TYPES OF MASSAGE
Deep Tissue
Very Specific manipulations with deep intense pressure, used to work
the deep layers of muscles. This breaks up the stagnant toxins and
lactic acid buildup as well as lengthens these muscles. This
provides pain reduction in muscle tension and spasms.
Swedish
A vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by
stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing towards the
heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The
therapist uses a combination of kneading, rolling and friction with
the application of lotion or oils.
Neuromuscular
This program of soft tissue manipulation balances the body's central
nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. The goal is to help
relieve the pain and dysfunction by locating and releasing spasms
and hyper contractions in the tissue through this "trigger point"
therapy, therefore restoring postural alignments.
Hot
Stone
This
deep relaxing treatment involves a technique using smooth, heated
and cooled basalt stones. These stones are placed on specific
acupressure points on the body and melt away knots, tension and
stress. The warm stones help expand the blood vessels and the cool
stones cause the blood vessels and the cool stones cause the blood
vessels to constrict. This aids in detoxification and quickens
healing times.
Reflexology
The application of specific pressure to reflex points on the feet
which correspond to all glands, organs and systems of the body. This
increases circulation and boosts the immune system.
Raindrop Therapy
Seven to nine therapeutic grade oils are layered along the spine
and back with a feathering and light massage technique. A warm,
moist towel is then placed on the back to help drive oils in. The
oils create an environment that is unsupportive to the life of
viruses and bacteria that are stored in the spine. Therapeutic grade
essential oils help the release of chemical toxins, lessen muscle
spasms, enhance well being and encourage emotional clearing. Spinal
realignment happens when spasms and inflammation-producing bacteria
and viruses are removed.
